Easy to qualify for: Good. The CFPB states plainly that "a broker does not lend money" and that a borrower can use a broker to find different lenders or mortgage loans. Because a broker submits an application to more than one wholesale lender rather than to just one, a borrower whose file does not fit one lender's guidelines can still be placed with another lender through the same broker relationship, which is the structural reason this route can reach borrowers a single retail lender would turn away. source↗ 2026
