Recall and safety record: Fair. On February 28, 2011, WellPet recalled all flavors and sizes of Wellness Canned Cat Food with best-by dates from April 14 through September 30, 2013, plus Wellness Canned Cat Food Chicken & Herring with two November 2013 best-by dates, after independent testing conducted with FDA in response to a consumer complaint found low levels of thiamine (vitamin B1).
